Moving closer to students, listening to their experiences, and continuing to build
Every week brings something different to the BAINT journey
Some weeks are focused on development, others involve research, conversations, feedback, or sharing what we are building with people who may eventually use it
Week 36 was another reminder that building educational technology requires more than posting updates online
This week, we continued taking BAINT AI Classroom Assistant directly to students and educators, listening to their experiences, and learning from the conversations that happen along the way
Taking BAINT Into Schools
One of the important moments this week was visiting a school to present BAINT to students
Before the presentation, we had a conversation with the school principal
That conversation created an opportunity to introduce what we are building and move closer to allowing students to experience the product themselves
For us, this is an important part of the journey
We want BAINT to be experienced by students, not simply discussed through social media posts
Presenting the product in a school environment gives us another opportunity to explain what we are working towards, introduce the classroom assistant, and continue exploring how students might use it
There is still work ahead, but we are gradually moving towards our goal of testing BAINT in educational environments
Research Continues Through Student Conversations
Beyond the school presentation, we continued our research conversations with students
We also shared our latest BAINT Insight Card, documenting another learning experience and using it to reflect on the challenges students face
These conversations remain an important part of how we approach development
Students have different experiences, different expectations, and different ways of understanding difficult concepts
Listening to them helps us identify areas where educational technology could provide better support
This week, we received one piece of feedback
Although it was only one response, it gave us another opportunity to understand how a student experiences AI when using it for academic work
We are continuing to learn from these interactions rather than assuming that every student will experience BAINT in the same way
When Students Challenge Our Thinking
One conversation this week also reminded us that students may have different expectations of how an educational AI should respond
A student shared an experience involving an AI-generated answer for a school assignment that did not meet their expectations
During our discussion, I explained that BAINT should not simply invent an answer when it cannot establish a reliable response
The student disagreed, arguing that the AI should still respond, even if the answer might be incorrect
That conversation raised an important question for us
How should an educational AI help students when it cannot confidently provide the correct answer?
For us, this is something worth thinking about carefully
Students need useful responses, but they also need to understand when an answer may be uncertain
We want BAINT to become more helpful without encouraging students to trust information that may not be correct
These conversations help us understand the expectations students bring to educational technology and the challenges we need to consider as we continue building
Continuing to Share the Product
We are still talking about BAINT, presenting it, and allowing people to explore the product
Our work is not limited to publishing articles or sharing updates on social media
We want to create
opportunities for students and educators to see what BAINT does, ask questions, experience the demo, and share their thoughts
This is part of our approach to building through real experiences
We are continuing to introduce BAINT to people who may be interested in educational technology while learning from the questions and feedback they bring
The journey is still developing, and every conversation gives us another perspective
Another Conversation With a Builder
This week, we also had a conversation with another builder
Conversations like these are valuable because building a product involves more than the technical work itself
There are questions about development, resources, testing, product direction, and how to continue making progress with the tools available
We are still learning from other people who are building and exploring their own ideas
These interactions give us opportunities to exchange perspectives and understand different experiences within the building journey
We Are Still Looking for Support
As BAINT continues to develop, we are also being honest about the resources we need
One of our immediate needs remains a laptop
At the moment, we are building with limited equipment, and having access to a working laptop would make development, testing, and project management much easier
It does not have to be a new or expensive device
Even an old, working laptop could help us move faster
We are still looking for individuals, builders, organisations, or supporters
who may be willing to help us access the equipment we need
We also welcome technical guidance, mentorship, and connections with people who understand the challenges of developing educational technology
We appreciate every opportunity to receive support as we continue working towards our goals
What Week 36 Reminded Us
This week reminded us that building BAINT is not only about what happens behind a screen
It is also about conversations with students, introductions to schools, discussions with builders, and opportunities to understand how people respond to the product
We are learning that progress can happen in different ways
Sometimes it comes from improving the product
Sometimes it comes from
listening to a student explain what they need
And sometimes it comes from taking the product into a new environment and allowing people to experience it
We are still working towards making BAINT more useful, and we recognise that there is much more to learn
Moving Into Another Week
As we enter another week, we are continuing with the same mission
We want to improve BAINT, listen to students, build relationships with educators, and create opportunities for more people to experience the product
We are also continuing to look for the support and resources that could help us develop faster
Every conversation, presentation, and piece of feedback contributes to our understanding of what we are building
We are grateful to the students, educators, builders, and supporters who have taken the time to speak with us and learn about BAINT
We are not claiming to have everything figured out
We are learning, improving, and continuing to build
BAINT is moving beyond social media, closer to students, and towards more opportunities to learn from real classroom experiences
The journey continues
