What We Built
During Hacktoberfest Hack Day at BIT Sindri, our team (SYNCTHINK) built DevMatch—a skill-based developer and project matching platform designed to connect student builders across different engineering branches for hackathons and campus projects.
The Stack & Architecture
- Backend: Python with FastAPI for asynchronous REST APIs and fast request handling.
- Database: Serverless PostgreSQL on NeonDB for relational user profiles, skills, and matchmaking queries.

Frontend & Deployment: Client UI deployed live on custom domain infrastructure at
syncbuild.tech.
What We Learned
Shipping a complete end-to-end prototype within tight hackathon time constraints pushed us to keep our schema lean and prioritize developer velocity. Building in the open for Hacktoberfest 2026 was an incredible experience!
