Chose Stripe Atlas over HK LLC as a CN indie founder — a week later

Setup: solo dev in mainland China, needs USD income for a B2B data API.

Options: (a) MoR like Creem/LemonSqueezy for 5% fee, or (b) form an offshore company (HK / Delaware LLC) and run Stripe direct at 2.9%.

After a week of research I paid Stripe Atlas $500. Timeline: T+0 apply, T+2 EIN, T+5 Mercury bank account, T+7 Stripe activated. Total ~US$800 including first-year registered agent and franchise tax reserve.
