We have been working with developers in India for several years. From a financial point of view, it has been profitable, but every year there are more problems: difficult communication, high staff turnover, differences in approaches to quality and responsibility. We are now considering alternatives and are increasingly hearing about Brazil as a nearshore destination. How does Brazil differ fundamentally from classic offshore, and can it really be a better replacement?

Comparing India and Brazil is essentially comparing offshore and nearshore mindsets. Brazil is much closer to the US and Europe in terms of time zones and cultural compatibility, which has a dramatic impact on daily work. These differences are described in detail at ncube.com/nearshore-software-devel... In Brazil, there is a strong emphasis on teamwork, engagement, and long-term cooperation, rather than mass code production. Developers are more often involved in product discussions, asking questions and proposing solutions, rather than simply following instructions. This reduces the number of errors, rework, and hidden risks. Yes, Brazil may be slightly more expensive than India, but the overall efficiency, team stability, and quality of interaction often make it more profitable in the medium and long term.
