From Design to Building: My Journey into UI/UX & Frontend

Hey everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹

Iโ€™m Bhavuk, a designer with 3+ years of experience in branding, pitch decks, and UI/UX.

Lately, I started learning frontend. Not because I want to switch completely, but because I want to understand how the things I design actually get built.

Sometimes as a designer, itโ€™s easy to create something that looks good but is harder to implement. I want to get better at that balance.

Right now Iโ€™m learning HTML, CSS, and slowly getting into React. Still early, still figuring things out.

Iโ€™ll share what I learn here as I go.

If youโ€™ve been on a similar path, would love to know โ€” how did you start?

I kicked off my crossover by trying to rebuild my own Figma screens in pure HTML and CSS. You quickly realise that arbitrary spacing in design tools falls apart once it hits the browser's document flow. Grasping CSS Flexbox completely rewrites how you mentally structure Auto Layout back in Figma. Getting comfortable with React components will naturally make your design decisions much sharper down the line.
