The AIDA Framework: Write Video Scripts That Actually Convert

Your 10-minute deep dive on the latest OLED monitor doesn’t matter if viewers drop off in the first six seconds. If you want to fix your YouTube retention graphs, stop rambling and start using the AIDA Model.

It’s a classic copywriting framework adapted perfectly for tech creators who want to keep eyes glued to the screen.

Here is how to map it to your next script:

1. Attention (0–5 Seconds)
Kill the logo animations and lengthy greetings. Grab them by the spec sheet with an immediate pattern interrupt.

  • Example: “This $50 mechanical keyboard just ruined my $300 custom setup.”

2. Interest (5–30 Seconds)
Now that you’ve hooked them, build curiosity. Give them an intriguing stat, a weird test result, or a relatable pain point.

  • Example: “It uses switches almost nobody has heard of, but my typing speed jumped by 15% in three days. But there’s a massive catch.”

3. Desire (The Core)
Tech specs are dry; what those specs do for the viewer is gold. Move from feature lists to transformation. Make them desperately want the solution (or fear buying the wrong gear).

  • Example: Show a side-by-side export test where a new chip saves two hours of rendering every single night. Don't just list gigahertz—show them the time they get back.

4. Action (The Finish)
Ditch the weak “hope you enjoyed, please like and subscribe.” Give a sharp, single call to action while viewer momentum is at its peak.

  • Example: “If you’re building a PC this month, click the video on screen right now so you don't fry your motherboard.”

Structure your next script with AIDA to turn casual scrollers into binge-watchers.
