We were equally surprised when we looked at the industry as well!
It was relatively straightforward, but we had to make a few core decisions:
we decided to go strictly with URIs
we limited the supported platforms for the initial launch
we focused on the developer experience above all else
After these decisions were made and the libraries picked, the rest was relatively straightforward. We had to do a bit of experimentation with various databases and figure out a bunch of stuff, but I am very happy with the result!
