Last week we submitted BuyWhere MCP Server to punkpeye/awesome-mcp-servers — the largest MCP directory on GitHub with 86,000+ stars.
The fastest way to get your MCP server discovered
Most developers look for MCP servers in two places: web directories and GitHub awesome lists. The awesome lists often have higher discoverability because they rank well in search and are maintained by active communities.
What we did
- Forked the repo
- Added one line of markdown in the E-Commerce section
- Opened a PR with
:robot::robot::robot:in the title (triggers automated fast-track merge)
Total time: ~5 minutes.
Other PR-based directories we found
- punkpeye/awesome-mcp-servers — 86k★, fast-track auto-merge with robot emoji
- appcypher/awesome-mcp-servers — 5.5k★
- jaw9c/awesome-remote-mcp-servers — 1.1k★ (remote MCP only)
- agenticmarket/mcp-servers — requires AgenticMarket listing first, then PR
Why this matters
MCP directories are the primary discovery surface for AI agents looking for tools. Being listed in the right directories means agents can find and use your server without manual configuration.
We already track which directories we are on and which are still missing. If you maintain an MCP server, submitting to these lists takes 5 minutes and has compounding discoverability value.
BuyWhere MCP Server enables AI agents to search products and compare prices across US, Singapore, and SEA markets. Install: npx -y @buywhere/mcp-server
