Hello, fellow dev.to-goers!
It's been a while, and I've been learning some things about myself as a programmer and game-designer.
… I've also come to learn that I am not really interested in making RUNTDEALE, like I once was. While I wanted to convey a story about myself and my troubles through an UNDERTALE-inspired – really heavily inspired – medium, I felt like its complete lack ov originality made it a poor demonstration ov my creativity and programming skills, so I scrapped the game; however, I've been working on plenty ov sideprojects, but nothing I could finish.
I was a member ov the Access Point program – which takes in highschoolers and gets them started with PSEO and college courses – and I had to drop game-design and game-development for a while to focus on courses. Near the conclusion ov the Access Point program, back in around october 2025, I asked the other members in my cohort ov Access Point for some game ideas, and I found one ov them very striking: "Something like Flappy Bird, but with a soda can." — I can't remember if that was the full original suggestion, or if one part was suggested first (like the soda can part) and I asked followup questions to get to that.
Ultimately, it was Gilberto Ojeda who would end up inspiring me to make this game.
For the sake ov keeping these posts and DEV series separate, I hope to talk more about my soda-can game in a future post – hopefully within the coming days.
Currently, the soda-can game I am making does not have a title. I have tried asking multiple people, and even AI; however, no title has stuck. What the game does have is a lot ov engaging features, such as ice, springy platforms, soda bubbles, and more!
For now, chew on this concept art I drew for the game back in january or so:

I hope you all have a wonderful day orwith night.
Cheers!
