Students researching universities in the United States will often encounter the term “Ivy League.” Technically, it refers to eight universities that form the Ivy League athletic conference.
The eight institutions are Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton, and Yale. The universities operate independently and make their own admissions decisions.
