My one bit of advice to ya would be to make sure to add tags to your posts. Tags are one of the primary ways that folks discover content on DEV; they follow tags (+ people, orgs, and podcasts) to populate their feed with things they're interested in.
Here's a page that links out to some of the most popular tags in case it's helpful. But to be clear, you can write in any tag that you'd like, even if it doesn't yet exist.
