Just had the craziest experience with loans and I'm still stressed about it

Last week, I suddenly needed ₱10,000 because my sister's car broke down and she couldn't get to work. I know it's not my problem, but family is family, right? So, I decided to help her out. I immediately applied for a loan at one of the big banks here, thinking it would be a breeze since I've had an account with them for years. But, guess what? My loan application was rejected due to some issue with my credit history. I was so frustrated - I knew I had made some late payments in the past, but I had no idea it would affect me this much.

I was worried because my sister really needed that money, and I didn't know where else to turn. I started searching online for other loan options and stumbled upon some online lenders that seemed okay, but the interest rates were crazy high - we're talking 25% per annum. I was like, "No way, I'm not paying that much." I felt so stressed, I didn't know what to do. I was scrolling through my Facebook feed when I saw an ad for a loan comparison website, and that's when I found this while searching online: I came across https://www.creditkaagapay.com/ and it had some really useful information about the current loan landscape in the Philippines.

I read an article on their blog, https://www.creditkaagapay.com/blog/bsp-stance-what-it-means-for-loans-in-the-philippines/, and it explained how the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is keeping interest rates high to combat inflation. It made sense, but it didn't really help me with my immediate problem. I needed money, and I needed it fast. I ended up borrowing ₱3,000 from a friend, which was still short of what I needed, but it was better than nothing. My sister was able to get her car fixed, and she's back on the road now.

Looking back, I realize I should have checked my credit score before applying for a loan. I had no idea it was that bad. I've been paying my bills on time for months now, so hopefully, it'll improve soon. I'm just relieved that everything worked out in the end, but I'm still stressed about my financial situation. I'm trying to be more careful with my money now and make sure I don't end up in a similar situation again. Just sharing in case this helps someone - always check your credit score before applying for a loan, and don't be afraid to shop around for better interest rates.
