Just had the craziest week - needed ₱10,000 ASAP and I'm still stressed about it

So last week, I suddenly needed ₱10,000 because my brother's car broke down and he couldn't get to work. I know, it sounds like a pretty common problem, but the thing is, I'm the one who's been helping him out financially since our parents passed away. Anyway, I tried applying for a loan at our local bank, but they rejected me because my credit score isn't exactly perfect. I was worried, to say the least - my brother was going to lose his job if he didn't get his car fixed ASAP.

I started searching online for other options, but all I could find were lenders with ridiculously high interest rates. I'm talking about 30% per annum - that's just crazy! I was getting frustrated because I didn't know what to do. I even considered borrowing from one of those shady lenders, but my friend warned me about the risks. I was stressed, and I didn't know how I was going to come up with the money.

A few days ago, I was talking to my friend who recently applied for a ₱50,000 loan at BPI, but got rejected. She told me about her experience and what she did wrong, and it made me realize that I needed to do my research before applying for another loan. I found this while searching online - I stumbled upon https://www.creditkaagapay.com/ and it seemed like a legit website with some really helpful information. I started reading about personal loans in the Philippines, and I came across this article: https://www.creditkaagapay.com/blog/personal-loan-philippines-your-2026-guide-to-rates-apps/. It was really informative, and it helped me understand the ins and outs of personal loans.

I learned that it's not just about finding the lowest interest rate, but also about knowing your options and how to present yourself best to lenders. I realized that I made some mistakes when I applied for the loan at our local bank, and that's probably why I got rejected. I'm still trying to figure things out, but at least now I have a better idea of what I need to do. I'm relieved that I didn't end up borrowing from one of those shady lenders, but I'm still stressed about the whole situation.

I just hope that my brother's car gets fixed soon, and that I can find a way to pay for it without breaking the bank. Just sharing in case this helps someone who's going through a similar situation - don't make the same mistakes I did, and do your research before applying for a loan. And if you're looking for some helpful information, check out the article I linked above. Wish me luck, and thanks for reading my rant!
