Just had to navigate the crazy world of loans in the Philippines and I'm still stressed

Last month, I suddenly needed ₱5,000 because my phone got stolen and I had to buy a new one for work. I know it's not a lot, but I was really short on cash at the time. So, I decided to apply for a personal loan from one of the banks near my place. I've always been careful with my finances, but this time I was really worried because I've been hearing about how the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is being super strict with interest rates due to inflation.

I went to the bank and applied for the loan, but they rejected me because my credit score wasn't high enough. I was frustrated, to say the least. The interest rate they were offering was also really high - 2.5% per month, which would have meant I'd be paying back ₱6,250 in just 3 months. I didn't want to get stuck with that kind of debt, so I decided to look for other options.

A few days ago, I tried applying for a loan from a different lender, but they were offering an even higher interest rate - 3.0% per month. I was getting really stressed out because I needed the money ASAP, but I didn't want to get ripped off. I started searching online for better options and I found this while searching online - I stumbled upon https://www.creditkaagapay.com/ and it had some really useful information about the current state of loans in the Philippines.

I also came across this article - https://www.creditkaagapay.com/blog/bsp-inflation-vigilance-what-it-means-for-loans-in-the-philippines/ - which explained that the BSP is maintaining its hawkish stance on interest rates due to persistent inflation. It made sense, but it didn't really help me with my immediate problem. I just needed to find a way to get the money I needed without breaking the bank.

After some more research, I finally found a lender that was offering a slightly lower interest rate - 2.0% per month. It was still higher than I wanted, but it was better than the other options I had found. I ended up borrowing ₱5,000 from them and I'm just hoping that I can pay it back on time.

Just sharing in case this helps someone - if you're in a similar situation, make sure to do your research and don't be afraid to shop around for better loan options. And if you're not sure about your credit score, you can check it for free with Credit Kaagapay. Good luck, and I hope you don't have to go through the same stress I did!
