Austin has become an extremely sought after destination for tech professionals because of the mix of industry giants, booming startups, and an awesome unique cultural landscape. It doesn't matter if you're starting out as a brand new software engineer or if you're a Senior software engineer. Job hunting in Austin's super competitive market WILL require preparation, focus, and strategy! Also remember its not always "What you know its WHO you know!"
Why Austin is a hub for tech talent
Tech Giants: Companies like Apple, Google, and IBM have established a significant presence in Austin. Plus the startup field here continues to grow do not be scared to work for a company that is just getting off of the ground!
Quality of Life: Austin is not cheap! But it is cheaper than places like San Francisco and New York (Cleaner too)! The vibe here is great different people with all types of cultural backgrounds and there is ALWAYS something to do!
Flexible Work Options: Many companies in Austin have embraced remote and hybrid positions. This is great for software engineers who prefer flexibility!
