About Me
Hello all!
My name is Cynthia Fotso, and I’m currently in my last semester of the Computer Programming and Analysis program at Seneca Polytechnic. I chosed this course to deepen my understanding of open source, since we’ve discussed it in courses like WEB but haven’t really had the chance to dive into it.
Why Open Source?
I’m interested in open source because it is not only writing code but from i could read it is about community, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving. By the end of the course, I hope to become more familiar with how open source works in practice, contribute to open source projects in a meaningful way and connect what I’ve learned in school to real-world development situations.
I believe this experience will be a valuable asset for future opportunities.
My Goals for This Term
Right now, I don’t know exactly what projects I want to work on but I’m open to exploring different areas and seeing where my interest will be. My main goal is to learn how to use all of these as it is all new to me, contribute to projects, and start building a track record of contributions I can showcase later which can help me gain jobs later.
For this week’s exercise, I looked at the trending repository whatsapp-web.js. The link to this repo is https://github.com/CynthiaFotso/whatsapp-web.js
This repo is a WhatsApp client library for Node.js that connects through the WhatsApp web browser app. What drew my attention is the fact that I use WhatsApp Web sometimes, and when I saw it trending, I was curious to learn more about it and what people are contributing to it.
