AviaGames and Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering launch a research partnership to study player engagement and cognitive health through mobile games like Solitaire Clash.

The study will be conducted by a Duke engineering student Product Lab team through May 2026. Students will carry out structured interviews and research synthesis to analyze how players interact with Solitaire Clash. The research will focus on player engagement patterns and explore how structured gameplay elements may relate to attention, decision-making, motivation, and social connection among older adults.

The initiative aims to provide insight into how mobile gaming may contribute to broader discussions about cognitive engagement and digital play among aging populations. By studying real player perspectives and usage patterns, the research will help contextualize how players experience skill-based gameplay within a mobile environment.

AviaGames CEO Vickie Chen noted that AviaGames is excited to collaborate with Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering Product Lab to study player behavior and cognitive engagement in aging populations. The partnership provides an opportunity to further understand the Avia player community while contributing to research-based discussions.

Solitaire Clash , which has recorded more than 60 million total downloads and over 450 million monthly tournaments , is one of AviaGames’ most successful titles and ranks among the leading games in its category on iOS and the Galaxy Store. The collaboration will also give Duke students practical research experience working with a high-performing mobile app and its player base.

Through this partnership with Duke University, AviaGames continues expanding its collaboration with academic institutions while supporting research related to digital play and player engagement.
