Howdy, I am a semi-retired mechanical engineer & live in Houston Texas with my family. I am now on a journey to develop a cognitive software with the intent of commercializing it. Cheers.
Hi, I am David. Just joined the Dev community and looks like a city of people in here. I am a semi-retired mechanical engineer who during covid took a deep dive into learning python and nodejs. I started a project and applied the lessons learned to develop this project into a cognitive software that I am planning to commercialize on the web. Looking forward to meet the creative people of this community. Cheers.
I'm a backend- and infrastructure-focused software engineer transitioning out of the U.S. Navy, where I served as a technical leader in nuclear systems engineering. I also used to be a monk.
I'm resonating with your experience coming from a different engineering field into software engineering.
I got my degree in aerospace engineering and then did nuclear engineering with the military. It's interesting to reflect on how different the different engineering fields are, but also what the common threads are that connect them. I wonder what your reflections are on what transfers from mechanical engineering to software engineering.
French web developer mainly but touches everything. Volunteer admin mod here at DEV. I learn Nuxt at this moment and databases. — Addict to Cappuccino and Music
