This series is hands-down one of the most valuable resources on DEV! As a solo indie hacker, I often feel the pinch of infrastructure costs while bootstrapping. The Solo Grants you mentioned sound like a perfect lifesaver for early-stage builders.
I'm currently building AgentShare, a live MCP server providing real-time DeFi intelligence for AI agents on Solana (I actually just wrote about my journey building its Claude Desktop Extension here on DEV!).

$1k grants look appealing but application overhead usually makes them cost-negative for solo projects - time writing and reporting vs just shipping. the claude for open source program is different though, actual tooling value instead of cash.
One reason I wanted to share Solo Grants was that they specifically mention there's no pitch deck or accelerator involved, so hopefully the application isn't too time-consuming either.

the pitch-deck skip is real — that alone cuts maybe 60% of the overhead. if the progress reporting is equally light, that changes the math completely. worth a look.
That's what I'm hoping too. It'll be interesting to see how lightweight the process actually is in practice.

same here — async status updates will be the real tell. if those stay light the whole model hums. if they balloon, you have just moved the overhead to a different column
Great roundup. Opportunities like grants, open-source programs, and developer resources can have a huge impact because they lower the barrier for builders to experiment and contribute.
