Thank you to the DEV team for including my article in the Top 7! 🙏

Catastrophic forgetting is one of the most fascinating (and frustrating) challenges in neural networks, and I’m glad the article sparked interest. Looking forward to continuing the conversation with this amazing community.

Congratulations to all the other wonderful authors whose insightful work made it into this week’s Top 7. 🎉

And, thanks to everyone who read, discussed, and shared! It wouldn't have been possible without the support of the community. ❤️

Thank you to the DEV team for including my article in this week's Top 7 💛

To be honest, I wasn't sure how this post would be received. I just wanted to share a lesson that took me a while to learn: the opportunities mattered, but the people mattered even more.

Seeing so many people share their own experiences and stories in the comments has honestly been the best part. Reading through all the conversations has made this article even more meaningful to me.

And to everyone who read the article, shared their story, offered feedback, or joined the conversation, thank you. 💛

And congratulations to all the other authors whose posts made it into the Top 7 this week 🎉

From this list, the hemapriya piece is the one to send first to someone entering tech. It took longer than I would admit to see community as more than networking - the belonging came first and everything else followed.

Mykola, that means a lot.

I think I saw community as networking for a long time too, so it's been interesting reflecting on how much my perspective has changed over the years.

And thank you for all the thoughtful comments you've shared on the article as well 😃

yeah the networking framing is almost a defense mechanism early on - safer to treat it as transactional than to actually need people. takes a few years to realize you are not gaming the system, you are just in it.
