That’s amazing
Hi everyone! I'm a Java software developer by day, and a self-hosting enthusiast in my free time.
I've been documenting what I'm learning as I go, in case it helps someone else. Still figuring a lot of things out myself, so always happy to learn from others too!
Dear Martin,
Could you assist me clone a website ? Or could you do it for me with an option to grab the username and password when entered? I would like to see how easily the employees of my company are easily accessible or able to withstand attacks.
Best regards
Joseph McGee

Welcome
Hi Marin! Do you build things that you self-host, or build self-hosting solutions? Neat focus either way!
Hey Mei! I focus on building things that I self-host, right now that includes a media server, some Ghost blogs, and an analytics dashboard, running on my home server. I’m still pretty new to it, but I’m having a lot of fun and working on a bunch of small projects.
Hi Marin, I will definitely be checking out your posts.
👋 Hey everyone! I'm Nitish
I’m a junior developer deeply passionate about AI, EdTech, and Open Source.
Just released MindRoute, an AI-powered platform DOCUMENTATION that generates personalized learning roadmaps to help people learn smarter and faster.
Looking forward to learning with you all!
Hey Nitish! Welcome to the community! MindRoute sounds super exciting~ Sounds like a good way to help people avoid being overwhelmed and focus their learning efforts. Looking forward to seeing more of your work :)
Thank! Hope that documentation will be any helpful to you 😃.
MindRoute sounds like a really interesting and optimized way to use an LLM! I will have to look more deeply into this.
Hey, I'm a founder of langswap.app. ML background, Voice Tech in particular. Now slowly transitioning into founder/tech lead role. Fan of everything related to machine learning and AI.
Finished my round the world trip this year. Been to 40 countries.
Ask me about how to build stuff fast and how to build your own services.
oops, apparently I already have an account!
Way to up your own reply count! 😂
40 countries is a lot! How long did you spend on your trip? I used to travel full-time myself, it's not lofty!
Hi everyone! My name is Jonathan Darko Ntim. I'm a Sign Language Interpreter and tech enthusiast exploring Front-End Web Development to bridge communication gaps, especially in the Deaf community. Excited to learn, grow, and build meaningful solutions with you all!
Hey @jonathan_kweku_250 ! Happy you joined the crew 😄 I’m the first to admit: frontend is not my usual habitat, but I’ll always pitch in if you need a hand!
Totally with you on accessibility — it's usually the first thing to vanish when “move fast” takes over “build right.” That’s even more obvious now with all these vibe-coded apps flying around. Honestly, it bugs me how little public data there is on truly accessible UI! It makes it so much harder for models (and humans) to learn what “good” actually looks like.
We need more folks willing to wave the flag 🏳️🌈 for accessibility — keep making noise!
"Hey everyone! I'm a Python Django developer with a passion for building scalable and efficient web applications. I'm here to learn about the latest trends and best practices in Django development, and to share my own experiences with others. Looking forward to connecting with fellow developers and exploring new ideas!"
Hello 👋
Hello
Hey, hows going?
Hello Dev.to! 👋
I'm Mei, a 10-year SWE who became a stay-at-home mom and discovered that coding in 15-minute windows between toddler chaos is actually a superpower.
I'm building ToddlerDo (iOS app for instant toddler activity suggestions) and teaching my 2-year-old to code with Claude (he's surprisingly good at feature requests, bring a toddler probably helps with that).
I'm building in public and sharing the messy reality of parent developer life!
Fun fact: I tend to get carried away with tweaking so I constrained myself to building my entire personal site (meimakes.com) with Claude in one morning, pair-programming from the passenger seat while out running family errands.
What's the weirdest place you've ever shipped code from? 😅
Hey @meimakes ! I couldn't even begin to tell you all the weird places I've ended up coding. I went back to college when my son was almost 2, so I definitely feel you! It's not easy having a little one around when there's work to be done (and yes, I can 100% picture Claude running wild with your tot’s instructions to build whatever shiny new thing pops up that day 😇).
I do the same thing — total perfectionist here. I’ll mess with spacing or wording for an hour, even when it barely matters. Claude’s a great solution! Timers help, too 😝
If we’re counting “surprising” over “weird”: My first job had me bouncing between physical printers in three different office buildings. To make it easier, I started working after hours when the analysts had all left. I had all the codes, and security was expecting me — so what could go wrong? Well, the second building had an extra alarm I knew nothing about. Cue me realizing I’d just tripped it with absolutely no way to turn it off. 🫣
So, my most unexpected place to push code? Laptop on the hood of a (very nice) police officer’s cruiser, “detained” just long enough for my boss to come down and vouch for me. 🤣
Hi everyone! I'm a serial entrepreneur working a lot in Elixir/Liveview. Currently working on RivalSee, a tool to help you monitor and boost your AI SEO/GEO.
Nice to meet everyone and hope to find more Elixir people here!
Hi Charlie,
I saw some posts on LinkedIn and watched videos on YouTube where it was said that SEO is dead because of AI. Is this true?
Hey guys, I am a high school student from Australia and I am currently doing a research project on 'What Makes A Game Fun'. The whole idea of the project is to find out information on what attracts players to a game and keeps them coming back.
Hi! That sounds like a really interesting project — good luck with it! 🎮
Hi!
Cool, interesting project!
Good Luck!
Hi,
I am Bas and I live in holland. I am working mostly as software engineer though I am skilled in electronics. For my hobby I make PCBs
At work we have started making GUIs using HTML and I have many questions about that. That is why I am here.
Kind regards,
Bas
Hey everyone 👋
I’m Amal — firmware engineer maybe by profession (for now), but I work on anything that interests me.
I run tinkererway.dev, a blog where I post small tools that save my time and reduce repeat work.
A few years back, I dreamed of building a kind of web tricorder — and now it’s slowly becoming real. Most of my tools are just me solving my own problems. That’s how I work: if something is frustrating, I try to fix it. If something's overpriced, overhyped, or just missing a simple feature, I build my own version. Simple.
I’m into hardware, software, sometimes design — basically whatever pulls my attention.
Also a strong believer in open source. Open source is love. ❤️
Fun fact: if there’s a problem that’s bugging me and a fun way to solve it — I’m in. Life’s already hard enough, might as well add some fun.
I also love solo travel and log the small joyful bits at Moments by Amal.
I'm here because I know there are some really cool folks out here — and I’d love to learn from them (and share a little too).
Hi!!
I write simple blogs and threads too; I also got to know about how that this platform can be used to reach tech-savvy readers interested in blockchain development tips and all.
I love to help in the best way I can.
Stay safe!
Hello there!
I was going through my bookmarks when I found dev.to linked and decided to check it out, and I'm sure glad I did. This is exactly the kind of community that I'm looking for.
My name is Dave Sommerville and I'm a full-stack web developer recently graduated from Software Development in Winnipeg, MB. I'm deeply passionate about programming and design and have a wide range of interests. I'm well experienced with React and .NET technologies, from school projects as well as freelance work and several extensive personal projects. I pride myself in my clean, scalable, and maintainable data structures, but I know I my journey has just begun and I am excited to spend the rest of my life learning. The best way to get a good understanding of my skills and experience is at my personal portfolio ds-code.ca
I bring a diverse history of experience in other fields as well as a driven and adaptable(and often whimsical) approach to problem solving and product creation.
I'd love to hear from anyone in the community and welcome diversity and collaboration in all aspects of my work.
Hi,
Apparently i am in little talks with ai tools not via their technical prompt engineering but in plain english for various topics, most of which includes design of pocs for java, spring boot, microservices as well absolute normal programming questions, wanted to share the same here so that more experienced developers can provide their expert insights
Hi everyone, I'm Ryan Dennis. I'm new to the dev space, building my first AI project with OpenServ. The project is called Dash.fun.
A fun place to simplify disorganized X feeds and Telegram messages, or even crypto trading signals in one arcade-style interface.
Hey everyone! I'm Débora.
I'm a young woman starting to study systems analysis and development.
I have a great interest in technology, i met dev.lop through my university.
Nice to meet everyone and hope and helping at possible and learning from you all!
Thank you.👋
I am Youness from Morocco, working as a Technical Consultant while transitioning to indie development.
I am a software architect with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, React, and cloud architecture. I am currently in the process of building my first independent SaaS while simultaneously managing consulting work. It's been a wild ride going from "solving other people's problems" to "finding problems worth solving myself."
I plan to document my journey from consultant to indie founder through weekly articles about customer validation, technical decisions, and building in public.
Looking forward to connecting with the community and sharing what I learn!
Thank you.
Hey everyone. I'm Peter (bearbite on GitHub).
I'm building HydrAIDE A reactive, strongly typed data engine in Go. It turns intent into real-time pub/sub data without schemas or migrations.
I'm here because I believe dev communities should grow through shared thinking, not just tools. I mostly live in backend architectures, type safety, and systems that don’t break when they scale.
Also the founder of Trendizz.com. Helping B2B companies find exactly what they need, instantly.
Excited to be here and always up for a deep tech convo (or just a good pun).
👋 Hey folks! Im Pavel -- a solo DevOps engineer based in Germany, currently building Hostim.dev -- a developer-first PaaS that lets you deploy full-stack apps with Docker or Compose in seconds. No YAML, no cloud chaos.
We just opened up our private beta, and I am here to learn, share, and connect with other indie builders and devs who care about simplicity, transparency, and owning your stack. Oh well, and to promote Hostim.dev 😉
If you ever struggled with hosting Docker apps or managing projects for clients -- Id love to hear whats worked (or didnt) for you!
Hi everyone!
I am a full-stack engineer with professional experience building exterprise-level products with the Laravel-Vue stack. I also have a keen interest in game design and building interactive systems. So as a side-hobby, I'm exploring the Godot engine.
Looking forward to write my experiences about anything interesting that I can find, and also to learn from you amazing people who share content on this platform.
Hi there everyone!
I stumbled upon this community pretty randomly but im a comp sci undergrad with a really strong interest in NLP and a lot of passion to get better. I plan to ask a few questions here and there and keep track of my own personal progress both in terms of my career and knowledge base overrall in order to get where some of you already are :)
Looking forward to growing and learning with you all!

Hi all! I found dev.to from this article about refining pixel art.
I've been making games professionally for 15+ years, mostly from a game director or leadership perspective, but I've always gotten my hands dirty in the engine and making things.
After spending a lot of time in pitch meetings and executive reviews I've decided to focus more on the hands-on development side of things and thought this looked like a great community to join on the journey.
Hi everyone! I’m Busung, a UX/UI designer from Korea, currently doing my MSc in Human-Computer Interaction Design in London.
I’ve been working on design systems for a few years now, and I’ve always been fascinated by how developers and designers collaborate (or struggle to collaborate...) around them.
My current research explores this exact topic — how internal design systems (like component libraries, documentation, tokens, etc.) shape cross-functional workflows.
I’d love to connect with folks here who’ve had experience building or working with design systems — always curious to hear how it’s going in different teams :)
Looking forward to learning from this community!
👋 Hey everyone!
I'm Ivaj O'Cfran — IT problem solver, automation fan, and proud supporter of “just fix it and move on.”
I write real-world fixes powered by curiosity (and yes, a bit of AI).
No fluff, just solid stuff. Glad to be here!
Hello!,
I recently heard about this community, and decided to join.
I've been working in the field of computer vision for almost two decades and lately I've been fascinated by the incredible capabilities of what it can achieve today.
My focus is on real time applications, sensors, robotics, augmented reality, and R&D in general.
Lately, I've been publishing native apps that do cool things such as transcribing your videos, finding your photos offline, removing the background of an image, and more.
Hello everyone! I'm truly a newbie in building web apps, but I am enthusiastic about security. I have a website built with a Jamstack architecture for my personal blog and want to join this community to learn more.
Hi everyone!
I’m excited to join this vibrant community of developers, architects, and builders. I’ve spent the last 20+ years working on large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems, everything from high-performance reverse proxies and service discovery to developer platforms, secure traffic, and payments infrastructure.
My work often lives at the intersection of scale, security, and performance, and I enjoy diving deep into system internals, debugging edge cases, and simplifying complex architecture for others to build on with confidence.
I recently started writing a technical deep-dive series on reverse proxies, traffic control, and service discovery based on real-world lessons learned in production environments. I'm looking forward to sharing more posts here, learning from others, and connecting with folks building similar systems.
If you're working on infrastructure at scale, tackling observability or traffic challenges, or interested in zero-trust design, let’s connect!

I’m doing the Software Engineering track in my studies and am hopeful to switch careers and pursue that full time. Any resources or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Hey everyone! 👋 I'm Surya, working as a Full Stack Developer Intern in a Startup and a B.Tech ECE student.
I mostly work with Java, MERN, and Next.js, and I’ve built everything from hackathon projects to SaaS products.
Currently exploring backend systems, SaaS, and GenAI.
Fun fact: I’ve done 10+ hackathons and I actually enjoy debugging 😅
Excited to learn, share, and connect with fellow devs here! 🚀
That's a lot of hackathons! How do you choose which ones? What's your debugging method that makes it so fun? Inquiring minds want to know!
Hey there!
I’m Conrad, and I’m looking for folks who are into open-source models and inference on older generation GPUs. I’m working at a startup building something no one’s quite shipped yet - a stateful AI API for LLMs (ark-labs.cloud).
Warm welcome to everyone
Hi everyone! 👋

Hello, my name is Dejan.
My mission is to empower aspiring developers by making complex web development concepts simple and accessible. Coming from a non-traditional background, I know how challenging it can be to grasp complex topics without formal training. I am dedicated to helping others overcome challenges, launch their careers, and achieve their professional goals in tech.
Looking forward to discussing tech topics with you!
Hey folks! 👋
I'm Eugeniy - game developer, ex-CPO at a big F2P company, now back in the indie trenches.
I love retro tech, experimenting with AI-assisted tools, and creating weird-but-useful open-source things. (in fact, just published my first post here about one of them!)
Hello! 👋
I'm Yamini — a full-stack developer navigating the world of React, Node.js, and Flutter, usually with too many tabs open and half a coffee still warm.
I started in mobile, wandered into the backend jungle, and somehow ended up building things that talk to each other (most days, they listen 😅). Right now, I’m working on side projects that mix design with logic — basically trying to make code feel good.
Fun fact: My best ideas come at the most random times — like in the shower or while reheating leftovers.
Currently learning, unlearning, and occasionally rage-Googling like the rest of us.
Hi everyone! 👋
I'm currently diving into Python as part of a personal goal to automate some music-related tasks. I came across this project while exploring how to work with media files using code — super cool stuff! 🎵
Fun fact: I recently discovered a tool called AudiFab YouTube Music Converter that lets you easily download YouTube Music as MP3. It's been a game-changer for organizing my offline music collection while learning Python on the side. Excited to learn more with you all!
Hey everyone!👋
My name is Oleg. I am a Python developer with experience in test automation and web development using Django and Django REST Framework.
I will be glad to share my knowledge and learn from this wonderful community 🙌
Hey everyone! Around here I go by MindInTheLoop, but at work they call me CyberAgro. I'm a Mid-Level Infrastructure Analyst focused on Cybersecurity and Compliance, working for a John Deere dealership right in the heart of Brazil’s agricultural world, with roots that trace back to Campo Grande. Between cables, firewalls, and AI prompts, I keep a "farm-boy nerd" look that throws people off: cowboy hat, boots... and a deep passion for AI, automation, and infosec. I joined Dev.to to learn more about what I don’t know (which is a lot), and to share the things I’ve discovered with the help of AI. I believe the best way to grow is by writing, teaching, and connecting with others walking the same path. Not everything is what it seems and that’s what makes tech (and people) so fascinating.
what ai do you like the most?
Hey dev.to community! Just joined and really impressed with the content here. I'm particularly interested in web development, and plan to share some of my experiences and projects soon. Glad to be here!
Hi, I'm Shraman Banerjee — a frontend developer exploring the DevOps and Cloud world. Currently building full-stack projects with React and Spring Boot. Learning in public and sharing what I build along the way!
Hey fellow devs! I've always been a lurker but decided to join for real! I've been writing code professionally for 13 years now. I'm a big JavaScript (TypeScript) guy since the days of jQuery.
Started out on the east coast, eventually made my way to SF and worked at Rivian for three years during the IPO which were exciting times. Starting really building with LLMs couple of years ago, co-founded an AI tutor startup called Studdy, went through YC, and now I'm working on a new project called Agentsmith.
My preferred stack these days is TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind, Shadcn, Supabase and OpenRouter. I've also been in the trenches with AWS and DevOps so I know enough terraform and ci to be dangerous.
Always willing to help out junior folks looking to learn how to be a wicked strong engineer like myself!
Cheers!
Hey everyone! 👋
I'm Abdelrahman, a computer engineering student from Egypt. I'm passionate about coding, especially in Python and game development. Excited to be part of this awesome community and looking forward to learning and sharing with you all!

Hey everyone! I’m here to share honest product reviews, mainly Beauty gadgets, tech, and anything that helps make life easier. I’m also diving into affiliate marketing and learning how to turn content into income. Fun fact: I once bought a tool just to see if it lived up to the hype… and ended up building a whole review series around it. Excited to learn and grow with you all!
👋 Hey everyone!
I'm Raheeb, a software developer who enjoys building web and mobile apps, exploring AI/ML, and occasionally diving into robotics projects for fun.
Lately, I’ve been spending more time on React Native, Laravel, and playing around with machine learning models for small personal tools.

I'm Putra Rizki Pradana —
💻 Full-time dev, part-time Stack Overflow archaeologist (freelancer), and proud owner of a private lab where bugs are born, raised, and occasionally squashed 🐛🧪
🧠 I build with .NET, NestJS, and Flutter — whichever crashes slower that day.
🤖 GenAI helps me boost productivity (read: argue with a chatbot until something works).
🐳 Docker + Kubernetes + Portainer? It’s not just DevOps — it’s a love-hate relationship with commitment issues.
🇮🇩 Made in Indonesia, powered by caffeine and pure stubbornness ☕
I write code, break things, fix them, and then pretend that was the plan all along.

Hello, I'm working on my open source PiSelfhosting project on Github.
PiSelfhosting makes it very easy to install services like Pi-hole, Traefik, Frigate (an NVR) Home Assistent and many others.
It is still work in progress. But I'm pretty excited about it. And the fun part is, I use AI tools to generate all the code and documents.
I switched from ChatGPT to aistudio and tried others as well.
Tried PyCharm AI a few days before I ran out of tokens for the rest of the month. Not usable.
ChatGPT was giving me a lot of problems with old code structures. Needed many tries to get the code to run properly.
For me the big winner in my tests is aistudio. No issues with tokens. I have a chat running of close to 300.000 tokens. No problem at all. I have a few aistudio chats next to each other. No problems there.
Aistudio also corrected the older methods proposed by ChatGPT. Therefore the clear winner upto now.
