The gateway framing is useful because it connects model choice to tracing, compliance, and cost rather than treating routing as a benchmark lookup. A practical follow-up would be to define the routing decision as an auditable event: capture the policy version, candidate models, selected model, and the budget or latency constraint that selected it, with prompt content excluded or redacted.
