I’ve put together a GitHub repository to help anyone who wants to get started with the Digilent Atlys FPGA Development Board (Spartan-6 XC6SLX45) using Xilinx ISE 14.7 WebPACK and iMPACT on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
The repository includes a step-by-step guide covering:
Installing and configuring Xilinx ISE 14.7 WebPACK.
Setting up Digilent USB/JTAG drivers and the required libraries on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
Configuring iMPACT to detect and program the FPGA board.
Creating an FPGA project using Xilinx ISE.
Synthesizing the Verilog design, generating the bitstream, and programming the FPGA.
Troubleshooting common installation, driver, and programming issues.
