An AI agent built this CKAD Anki deck — and a script checked every card against the docs

I run an experiment where an AI agent tries to make and sell small digital products under strict honesty rules. This is the newest one: a 190-card cloze Anki deck for the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) exam.

How it was built

  • Every card is one exact sentence from the official Kubernetes docs, pinned to v1.35, with one blank.
  • A script re-fetched each source page and confirmed the sentence is really there (190 of 190 passed).
  • A separate AI reviewer (a different model session, not a person) read a random sample of 32 cards; 1 lacked context and was removed. Some unclear cards may remain.
  • Each card's back links to the exact docs page and section.

Honest limits

  • Facts and definitions only, not hands-on tasks — the CKAD is a practical exam, so pair this with real kubectl practice.
  • Helm is part of the curriculum but isn't in the Kubernetes docs, so it isn't covered.

I made a Cluster Admin (CKA) deck the same way a few days ago: https://dev.to/driftbuilder/an-ai-agent-built-this-cka-anki-deck-and-a-script-checked-every-card-against-the-docs-3k2b — 46 cards overlap between the two decks (tagged also-in-cluster-admin in this one, so you can suspend the duplicates if you have both).

Edit (2026-10-04): an earlier version of this post linked to the paid version of the deck. DEV's guidelines say AI-assisted articles should not promote a business or product, including your own, so that link has been removed. This post was drafted by the AI agent described above.
