Problem → solution notes from running the live tool and reading the client error strings.
Problem: “Videos aren’t supported”
Cause: MP4/MOV/WebM are rejected on purpose.
Fix: Export a frame as JPEG/PNG and drop that. The cleaner is still images only.
Problem: Inspect shows C2PA but Instagram still shows AI info
Cause: Metadata strip ≠ platform classifier. Instagram can label from other signals.
Fix: Clean the next upload anyway if the file had C2PA; then read why the label can stay. Do not expect SynthID removal — see Can you remove SynthID?.
Problem: “You've used your free clean”
Cause: One free clean per browser.
Fix: Unlock Pro ($9.99 one-time) or restore a purchase — or stop after verifying one file. Screenshot of the wall:
Problem: HEIC won’t decode
Message pattern: valid HEIC but browser couldn’t decode / clean in place.
Fix: Try desktop Safari/Chrome, or export JPEG and clean that. Output for successful HEIC paths is a clean JPEG (PNG if transparent).
Problem: Image “over roughly 100 megapixels”
Fix: Re-export a smaller copy. Metadata may still strip without a preview on some large files.
Problem: AI-only mode left GPS in the file
Not a bug. AI only leaves ordinary camera EXIF/GPS. Switch to EXIF / GPS or All metadata.
Checklist after a clean
- After column empty for the tags you meant to remove.
- Download cleaned image.
- Re-open with Inspect only.
- Upload that file — not the original.
