I am in the SAME situation. I've been reading and doing courses about web development for 3 years now, never getting anything or learning the right way.
I came across with a guy with a comoany who is fullstack and React developer, and he just trusts in me and they hired me, as junior react developer.
I don't have the js fundamentals yet, I need more knowledge but I just jumped into it.
Maybe I'll share the story one day.
