As a beginner, one of the things I struggled with was resizing my VM Processor after creating it because the Virtualization option in my BIOS wasn't enabled yet.
If you manually create a VM using Oracle VM Virtual Box Manager and will like to resize it, the following steps will help you achieve that seamlessly (I am using an HP EliteBook):
Step 1: Go to your Oracle VM Virtual Box Manager
Step 2: Click on the VM you want to resize
Step 3: Click on settings (this is on the right pane just above where you see the details of your VM)
Step 4: Go to Version and use the drop-down arrow to select your desired processor size and click on Ok.
Voila! The processor of your machine has been resized.
