That's always possible but I'd not fear that because Shopify won't build everything. Their focus is different. Even if they build a feature, it won't be flexible and won't have all the features you might have.
As an example, they build a new "Live Chat" feature and most live chat apps were disappointed. However, Shopify's Live Chat feature isn't integrated with Facebook Messenger. That's just an example.
And you don't have to have only one app. Make a several more apps after you succeed :)
