Look at the photo. A tall rack of phones, row after row, every screen lit, every phone plugged in, a fan on the floor. None of them is a person. That is a phone farm. And that is how a social network gets manipulated.
This is the start of a campaign. Not a complaint. A campaign to shut the farms off, for all our sake. Here is the problem, what we built, and what we need from you.
THE PROBLEM
A phone farm is many smartphones run together by one operator, so every account has its own device. The phones sit on racks, plugged into power, driven from one computer. There are three kinds. Physical farms, real phones on racks. Box farms, phone mainboards packed in a chassis, no screens. Cloud farms, rented virtual phones on a server, no SIM card at all.
In Thailand in 2017, police raided one house and found 474 iPhones and 347,200 SIM cards, and the men running it were paid about 4,400 dollars a month. In October 2025, Europol seized around 1,200 SIM box devices running 40,000 active SIM cards in more than 80 countries.
And the farms sell what they make. Sites sell followers, likes, and views in packages, from a few hundred to hundreds of thousands. You give them only a public username. No password. They drip the likes a little every hour, so it looks natural. Slow fake is still fake. Sellers also ship cheap things nobody ordered and post five-star reviews in real people's names. That is called brushing, and it is illegal in America. Since October 2024, an American trade rule says you cannot sell or buy fake followers or views.
It works on every platform. YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X as well. Meta takes down fake accounts by the billions. X purges bots by the millions. And still the farms work. And what is done about it? Nothing.
Can they tip elections? Yes. Was the election stolen? Enough control, with farms from China on our social media, can do that. Fake accounts and bought reach decide what millions of people see. What people see shapes what they believe. And what they believe shapes how they vote. I name no single election, because the research does not prove one. But the machine that moves opinion is real, and it is for sale.
WHAT WE BUILT
We built the first check, and it lives inside Caline. It looks at an account's numbers and gives you a verdict: looks real, looks bought, or can't tell.
A dead phone has no cell connection. A live phone has a carrier. To open a cell account you have to give your information, your name, your ID. The people running the cheap farms will never do that, so their phones have no cell connection at all. Everything is on the internet. Wi-Fi only. No carrier, no account, no name. A phone with no cell connection at all is not a real phone. It is a dead phone. And a dead phone cannot have a real opinion.
The check scores more than that. How fast the account grew. Whether the likes fit the followers. Whether a hundred accounts liked the same post and pasted the same comment. One signal never decides. A real person on Wi-Fi only fails the cell test too, and a rich farm can buy SIMs. When there is not enough evidence, the check says so. It never guesses.
WHAT WE NEED
A start is not enough. We want to eradicate them. Shut them off. For all our sake.
So we are asking for smart brains. If you know bots, device fingerprints, networks, fraud, anything that catches a farm, come help us. Try the check. Break it. Bring a better signal. Tell us what we missed. We are one builder and one browser, and the farms are an industry. We need brains.
Real from fake. Hoax from true. If it was bought, you will know. And if you can help shut them off, step up.
