I Built GhostOps: An Autonomous Linux Terminal SRE Copilot in Python ⚡

Every developer and sysadmin knows the feeling: you log into a Linux server, containers are in crash loops, memory is spiking, and you find yourself juggling between journalctl, docker ps, htop, and random bash scripts.

I wanted something faster, smarter, and terminal-native. So I built GhostOps — an open-source, autonomous SRE & DevOps copilot designed specifically for Linux.

🌟 What is GhostOps?

GhostOps is a zero-bloat CLI copilot written in Python. It acts like an intelligent system reliability engineer residing directly inside your terminal. It continuously monitors health telemetry, pinpoints anomalies, and safely proposes remediations.

⚡ Key Features

  • 📊 Real-Time Host Telemetry: Fast inspection of CPU, RAM usage, and vital system health.
  • 🐳 Container Self-Healing: Automatically scans Docker containers, spots crash loops, and identifies root causes.
  • 🛡️ Safe Execution Sandbox: Every recommended command undergoes safety validation (SAFE, CAUTION, or DANGEROUS) before any action is taken.
  • 🔒 Privacy-First & Local AI: Supports local offline LLMs using Ollama, as well as cloud providers.
  • 🎨 Modern Rich Terminal UI: Clean dashboards without heavy web dashboards or bloat.

🚀 Quick Start (Try It in 30 Seconds)

You can clone and test it immediately on any Linux machine:

bash
git clone https://github.com/EngJoDev/ghostops.git
cd ghostops
./run.sh doctor # Run instant system diagnosis
./run.sh top # Launch live telemetry dashboard
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode
