Preface

Hello everyone, I am Evan Lin, a Technical Evangelist at LINE Taiwan. I am very happy to be invited by the chatbot community in Taichung to participate in the "Chatbots Meetup for Central People Chatbot Mini-Gathering #5 @ Taichung Dream Forest" event, and share the LINE API updates and my personal development experience. Here, I would also like to share my experience in participating in this event, and I hope that through the power of community sharing, the development momentum of chatbots can be even more prosperous.

Since Chatbots Meetup itself is a community-driven event, there are also many lightning talks sponsored by community friends. All the content inside is also quite rare and interesting. I also hope that through this article, everyone can get a little understanding of the charm of the Chatbots Meetup community lightning talks.

Here's a sharing of my personal experience in participating in this event. If you want to know more, you are welcome to check the community collaborative notes. https://hackmd.io/MA3uyLKtTn24KUx1iBWSzQ?both

How to Build a Good Chatbot Development Framework / C.T.Lin

Slides

CT from Zito Information shared the development experience of the chatbot development framework Bottender. The whole content is quite interesting, describing that when the company received a project to develop a chatbot, they wanted to build a chatbot framework for themselves. Through the support of platforms and the increase of functions, they also started to want to open-source the development framework to community partners to use together, to build a better platform ecosystem.

The entire content follows the timeline to understand how the Bottender framework was built and gradually grew, and also discussed how to deal with the different architectures and supported functions of each platform when developing a framework. Finally, Bottender also officially announced 1.0 recently. Everyone is welcome to pay attention and understand this open-source chatbot development framework.

Lightning Talks

After the three speakers, the next part is to introduce the most charming part of this community, which is the lightning talks. All the lightning talks can be referred to in this collaborative note article https://beta.hackfoldr.org/chatbot/, since they are all five-minute lightning talks, the main content is quickly introduced to you in a list:

  • Message Push Widget that can use variables / Dai Junmin
    • Slide
    • LINE Message Push Tool
    • Introduction:
    • To solve the tool for sending personalized messages for successful registration (or successful lottery), it can solve the tool for sending successful registration messages, and it supports FLEX Message, which can also include parameters referring to variables in Google Sheet.
  • Knock Knock Egg—Knock on Your Heart / Xu Hongxin, Ye Zhaofu (and other team members)
    • Slide , Video
    • Introduction:
    • A very interesting project that uses machine learning to help everyone overcome the difficulties of socializing. It allows everyone to be more willing to chat and make friends in a "sincere" way, breaking the difficulties of awkwardness in language. It also combines a pet raising system, and I look forward to the official launch time.
  • Reach Out and Take Shared Notes / Xu Hekai, Liu Yuzhu, Liu Xunqi
    • Introduction:
    • The third group is also from the friends of Feng Chia University. It is mentioned that there will be two groups to share in the community through the teacher's recommendation. And the problem that this group wants to solve is the problem of collaborative notes. When participating in community activities or attending classes, they will more or less do some summary. But what can effectively organize it into an article for everyone to learn and share? It is to use the similarity of photos to make judgments so that the notes can be gathered together.

Event Summary

This is my first time to Taichung to participate in the sharing of the developer community. I met many creative and enthusiastic developers. What surprised me was that the completion of the graduation projects of the students of Feng Chia University was so high. I hope that more enthusiastic developers can join the development ecosystem of chatbots, and I hope that everyone will like the development on the LINE platform. If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask and discuss in the community.

Community sharing is always the best way to stimulate creativity, and Chatbots Meetup is a very enthusiastic and creative community organization. I also hope that more creative developers are willing to join the development ranks of LINE Chatbot, and I hope to enthusiastically participate in community activities and share together.

Join the "LINE Developer Official Community" official account immediately, and you can receive the first-hand Meetup activities, or the latest news push notifications related to the developer program. ▼
