Preface:
Hello everyone, I am LINE Tech Evangelist - Evan Lin. LINE values its employees' independent innovation and teamwork, so LINE Internal Hackathons are held in various locations. And recently held the second internal hackathon competition in LINE Taiwan, and this time I am very happy to support the students' innovative Hacking spirit with the Hsinchu City Government and the MeiChu Hackathon organizers, and jointly held the “Hsinchu x MeiChu Hackathon” LINE competition category.
A week before the finals, LINE's development engineers were also invited to attend the enterprise workshop to teach the students LIFF and LIFF Share Target Picker to allow each participating student to understand. Competition Instructions
LIFF (LINE Frontend Framework) is an application suite developed by LINE for web applications. Through LIFF, in addition to quickly obtaining user information through LINE Login, you can also directly share interesting information with your LINE friends on the web page.
The theme of this competition hopes that students can use their imagination to develop an application service that is amazing (WoW) through LIFF.
For more LIFF related development documents, please refer to: https://developers.line.biz/en/docs/liff/
(Excerpt from article, it can be seen that applications made through Share Target Picker can be twice as fast as sending messages directly in LINE.)

Finals Sprint
(Students will ask as much as possible about related technologies and learn from the mentors every time they come to ask.)
(Looking at the students' bags, you can feel the mood of preparing for two days and one night)
This is a hackathon competition that lasts for two days and one night, and you can see the students' enthusiasm. At the beginning, you can see that the students have related questions about the competition topics, competition items, and the required enterprise group topics. After the mentors asked and discussed each group, you can feel that the students are well prepared.
In the middle, some students encountered some problems in the development process that could not be solved, and the mentors are also development engineers who are currently serving LINE Taiwan services. The mentors can also sit down and discuss with the students, and trace related problems together.
Finals Report

After a day and a night of hard work, the afternoon of the second day was the time for each group to display and report. The author is very happy to be one of the judges. Listening to each student's presentation, you can feel the students' efforts and the collision of creativity over the past two days.
Since this group needs to have a practical result display, some groups could not perfectly display the results due to the settings, which is a pity. However, LINE Taiwan attaches great importance to the service's implementability and user experience. In this competition, we also hope to convey related concepts to the students, so that the students can feel the persistence of being a leading brand in the communication platform.
Next, we will share the top three works as follows:

This team wants to solve the problem that it is often difficult to search for photo albums when going out to play. And because when going out to play, sometimes there is a need for someone to pay in advance or share the bill. So they created a group photo album based on location information (map), and created a group photo album through the places where they went out to play. And combined with LINE Bot, you can quickly find the photo album, so you no longer need to look through the photo albums of each group to find travel information.
Due to time constraints, the part of permission control is not yet complete. Through LIFF and Share Target Picker, in addition to sharing photo albums, you can also invite others to edit in the future.

- Looking for Extra Money? Open LINE

Students often have free time and hope to earn some extra money by working part-time, but it is difficult to find part-time jobs that are suitable for them? This pain point created the topic of this group, and after logging in to the website, you can directly post part-time jobs in the background. This group is very creative in that it uses natural language processing (NLP) technology. It can automatically find related keywords for part-time jobs, such as: "Repairing computers", "Tutoring" and other keywords. When students looking for extra money log in to the website, they can match according to the keywords of their registered expertise. If they also want to find a "tutoring" job, they will receive a notification from the official account saying that there is a job suitable for you. Through LIFF and Share Target Picker, you can quickly recommend extra money to your friends. Let your friends also have extra money to do.
Event Summary
LIFF is simple and easy to learn, and with the highly shared Share Target Picker, it is hoped that through this event, more students can understand the related functions and applications. The two-day and one-night hackathon event fully demonstrated the students' enthusiasm and endless creativity. I hope that there will be more opportunities to brainstorm with the students in the future to create product services that will amaze users (WoW).
