# Background

As everyone knows, I bought the [PS Portal Remote about a year ago](https://dev.to/evanlin/you-xi-tian-guo-ps5-e-mo-ling-hun-zhong-zhi-ban-shi-yong-ps-portal-remote-quan-po-380g-temp-slug-34402). I've probably finished quite a few games. But the original TPLink was a WiFi 5 router, and I wanted to upgrade to a WiFi 6 router. However, I found that the connection wasn't very smooth. This article documents how to make your PlayStation Portal Remote connect to your Playstation 5 more smoothly via WiFi.

Since upgrading from TPLink to an ASUS wifi6 router, I haven't been able to get a smooth connection between the PS5 and Portal. This trick successfully restored the speed.

1. Use 5G independently for PS5 and Portal
2. Optimize these two devices on the ASUS router
