## Why Change Phones
Recently, because I was going abroad, I wanted to prevent my child from getting lost. I bought an Apple Watch, but found that it couldn't roam. I had to get a phone that supports an ESIM card for him. In this case, the most convenient way was to give him my phone (iPhone XR) and then I would switch to the latest iPhone 14 Pro (even though the 15 is coming out soon).
#### Most software should be able to be handled with "iCloud Backup and Restore".
## iPhone System Software, Things to Note
- Old phone:
- Apple Watch
- Apple Pay
# Don't rush to wipe the old phone. After iCloud backup and restore, some Apps might need it.
Most applications can be installed by restoring from iCloud (and usually can be seamlessly transferred when opened). But some applications require the old phone for the transfer.
- **Steam App**
- Requires authentication from the old phone to transfer.
- **WeChat**
- Similarly, requires scanning a QR-Code from the old phone.
- **VPN Software**
- Each company may be different, some have stricter controls.
- For LINE, you can refer to [【LINE Phone Change Official Guide】Take you step by step ~ Applicable to iOS and Android](https://line-tw-official.weblog.to/archives/79051278.html)
- Old phone:
- Back it up first (can be done through iCloud)
- Make sure the backup is complete, make sure the backup is complete, make sure the backup is complete
- Open LINE on the new phone
- Scan the QR Code from the old phone to log in and transfer the phone.
- At this time, choose to restore from backup.
- If you find that it hasn't fully restored? (i.e., the backup failed)
- If you want to open the old phone, you'll find that it has already been transferred and cannot be opened.
- Delete LINE from the old phone and reinstall it.
- Repeat the above steps to transfer the new phone account back to the old phone.
- At this point, you'll find that the conversations have returned, and then back up again. This time, pay attention to whether the backup is complete.
- Then repeat the procedure and transfer to the new phone.
That's about it. I originally thought switching phones would be very convenient. But it also got stuck for quite a while, and the most important thing was LINE getting stuck (with a sad face).
