# Preface
Hello everyone, we are from the Developer Relations department of LINE Taiwan. In the article "[About LINE Taiwan's Developer Relations and Technical Promotion Department's Campus-Related Resources](https://engineering.linecorp.com/zh-hant/blog/line-devrel-campus/)" at the beginning of 2022, the LINE Taiwan development engineering team mentioned the enterprise visit opportunities provided to students in related science and engineering departments. In addition to allowing students to understand [LINE's R&D engineering culture](https://engineering.linecorp.com/zh-hant/culture), they can also learn about related technical internship opportunities.
This time, we received an invitation from the software engineering course at the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taiwan University, where many students from different departments came to learn together. Through the sharing of two speakers, Zephyr and Richard, students can gain a deeper understanding of software engineering.
# **Sharing by TPM (Technical Project Manager) - Zephyr Chang**

First, Zephyr, the TPM (Technical Project Manager) from LINE Taiwan, shared the software development process and introduced the software development lifecycle. He also clearly explained the collaboration of each role in the software lifecycle. He also detailed the responsibilities of each role and why they are so important in the project process.
## Q&A
### Q: How should project management and software engineering be handled in the event of a major disaster?
From a software engineering perspective, relevant preparations are needed in advance, and related designs and precautions for HA (high availability) are required. There are various aspects of exercises for various major disasters.
### Q: Are there any special detection methods for various failures?
Each service has related monitoring. Whenever a problem occurs, there will be a monitoring service that can immediately detect it and notify the relevant processing team to handle it.
### Q: TPM is somewhat similar to the software development supervisor, what are the differences in execution?
In LINE, work is divided by professional division of labor. TPM is a technical project management role, responsible for all aspects of project and service development. In LINE's culture, our organization is quite flat and all work is done through professional division of labor. So even if TPM is not a supervisory position, it also has its own scope of professional division of labor management.

Richard first interacted with the students and shared the difference between QA and Testing? First, Richard pointed out a problem with the Bug Fixing Cost, which is the cost of finding a problem in each process. If the problem can be found in the design phase, then the cost will be the lowest.
That is, in the design phase, when the demand side (possibly PM, possibly Business Owner) has new requirements, the tester should assist in reviewing the requirements of the design side. Try to find the problems that may exist in it.
In the development phase, although the developers start to write the development code, the testers need to prepare relevant test data (dummy data), and even start to develop related MockServe or automated testing related connection methods.
In the testing phase, a large number of testing tools are used to assist. Whether it is the CUJ (Critical User Journey) process testing, or exploratory testing, or even the E2E (End-To-End) testing process.
After the official launch, testers also have a lot of work to do. How to optimize the CI/CD process, how to regularly confirm the status of the service.
