Am just interested to know how do you use all that money apart from marketing and advertisements.

When you put 100% of the money in sales guys, you get useless nice smelling hot air. When you put 100% of the money in software engineers, you get the best product that nobody wants to buy. The salaries and equipment costs are an investment, returned by the sales guys (hopefully many times over).

Look at the site yourself and ask "how can I earn profit with this?" That's the primary thought ocurring in Mr. Money Bags head. If you don't have a good story, no fool will buy it.
Funding (I guess you mean acquiring venture capital) is similar in that you need to sing a song of great profit to be had with this shiny new product that you just need a bit of money for. See ycombinator.com for a very well known "startup accelerator".
