So, for the last year, if you wanted the best AI coding experience, you were paying $20 a month for Cursor. Itβs been the king. But there is a new ...

its not free. it comes with a tiny free quota, which gets exhausted in a flash. Soon they would tighten the quota.
Cursor is much more mature, faster and understands what to do. It would take google an year+ to match the level
I agree!
I used anti gravity on the second day after it launched and it was buggy as hell. On my second prompt, it basically told me "unable to connect, we're overcrowded" or something like that.
Maybe it has gotten better. I'll give it a retry.
Lol
.. it's buggy cuz it's over crowded?
I used it for last 3 weeks and it's been amazing, all code generated without problems or errors.
However I didn't use it for a proper backend.
Yeah well I also have mixed feelings at the moment...
Thanks for this write-up. I started using Antigravity for the first time yesterday, and I built a pretty interesting project that solves a challenge that I've had for a while. It's my very first vibe-coded application beyond a browser extension. I'm not a developer and literally couldn't understand a single bit of code it was writing π so this has been a really interesting journey.
Lovely to hear! What did you build if I may ask? :)
I own over 2,100 movies that are ripped and digitally stored on a Plex server. I prefer to add to my collection by buying used discs off eBay, but I always face the same challenge: do I have this movie? What format do I have this movie in? Etc.
So I built a tool that scans my Plex library, compares it to the discs being sold by my favorite eBay seller, and then sends me an email a couple of times a day when he adds new discs to his store. The email only contains links to movies that I don't own or haven't already bought from him (I tied it into my eBay purchase history). It also offers me upgrades. For example, if I own a movie on DVD but he's selling it on Blu-Ray or 4K, then it will offer me that movie.
So far, it's working flawlessly, and I have already bought nine movies from him the first day the tool was running. π
What an awesome use-case!
AI coding tools are heading: less manual typing, more high-level direction, and agents doing real work across editor + terminal + browser. It has real potential and sometimes their's "wow" moments when the agents nail a complex task.
But it's still rough around the edges β slow, sometimes unreliable, and not ready to fully replace current setup for everyday work. It's promising.. yeah,, , currently, it's more of a "try it and see" tool than a must-switch. If Google keeps polishing the bugs and improving stability, it could become a game-changer. For now, it's worth downloading to play with it, but betting whole project on it isn't yet.
Yup!
Right Prompt, Right Instruction of what you want to do, without waffling, will give good answers in any Tool, whether it's Cursor or Antigravity. New Tool -> No Worries, do Some same projects basics implementation using full potential of new tool, then you will get to know about it. By considering bugs, issues you encountered you can easily solve upcoming milestones.
Well said.
Thanks for sharing, Fabian! We appreciate your candid feedback and thoughts here.
You're very welcome!!
What is command+e ?
Claude code on Linux for me it is.
Alright!
Great!

Have you subscribe Google AI, and use Antigravity with model of Opus 4.5?
Yes. I switched to Antigravity from cursor for this reason. I find Opus4.5 currently the best coding model and even connecting cursor to my anthropic account I was burning through a lot of tokens. On a Google AI ultra account I get more opus4.5 usage than I can use for a fixed monthly amount.
