I was in this situation When I got my first job too, they were using meteorJS and had written so deep into a 3 year old codebase , convincing him to rewrite the codebase again would be double work for me, so I just picked up the docs read through their codes and in a month I was up and running ,it was not easy though but 4 months now I'm enjoying it.
Maybe you should do that too.

Write the docs you wish you had when you first sat down with it. Own your ignorance and fight it.
Consulted with other team members and we have collectively agreed to migrate to a new framework soon.
Much more better
