Two years ago I was drawing locks with pencil at 4AM for my YouTube channel Relatos Reales. Today I'm building websites at 4AM with AI.
My background:
- Cybersecurity student - Instituto validado por SENESCYT
- Learning software development with AI (not in class, by myself)
- Artist turned dev - 1.1K views on my first pencil drawing videos
What I'm building right now:
I made a landing page for an orthopedic clinic called LUMI with layered effect - video in the background, text in front. I did it at 4AM because that's when I can focus.
Tech: HTML, CSS, Tailwind, JavaScript, React learning
Why I'm here on DEV:
My engineer told me: "Don't trust internet messages in Ecuador, go in person to Talento Humano". So I'm building my portfolio to go in person to companies like GMS Seguridad, Netlife, NTT Data in Quito.
My institute doesn't have convenio, so I'm doing autogestión with Carta Compromiso. It's legal - Art. 18 says student can manage it. No labor relation.
My question for you:
If you are a senior dev, how would you improve a portfolio for a cybersecurity internship when you have no convenio but you have real projects?
