Intent-based lead generation: how to find customers who are asking for your service right now

Most lead generation starts with a list: scrape contacts, send a sequence, hope that someone replies. Intent-based lead generation starts from the other end. It looks for people who have already said, in public, that they need what you sell.

What buying intent looks like in real life

A person writes "need a plumber for tomorrow", "can anyone recommend a bookkeeper" or "looking for someone to build a landing page". No ad was shown, no form was filled. The need is stated in plain words, and the author is waiting for answers. That is a much warmer starting point than a name in a spreadsheet.

Such requests live in places where people ask each other for help: city chats, residential complex chats, niche professional groups, community forums. Telegram is a strong example because many cities and industries have active open group chats.

Why finding these requests is hard

Two problems show up quickly.

First, volume. In our own database, 542,795 messages matched client keywords, and only 14,774 were real requests from people looking for a contractor. That is 2.7%. The rest were competitor ads, job posts, reposts and small talk.

Second, speed. A request in an open chat is visible to everyone in the group, so nobody gets exclusivity. The contractor who notices it first and replies with something specific usually has the advantage.

A simple way to run it

  1. Choose the places where your customers ask for help: your city, your niche, your customers' professional communities.
  2. Watch for requests, not for keywords. A keyword like "cleaning" matches both "I do cleaning, cheap, DM me" and "need cleaning after renovation, urgent". Only the second one is a lead.
  3. Reply fast with a short, specific message: what you understood, one clarifying question, one example of similar work.
  4. Track which sources produce real conversations and drop the rest.

You can do this by hand for a handful of chats. Beyond that, it needs automation.

Where Leadolovets fits

Leadolovets (mpleads.ru) automates the first three steps for Telegram. After you describe your business and city, it finds chats through Telegram search using your own connected account, reads messages, uses AI to decide whether the author is looking for a contractor, and labels each request hot, warm or cold. You then answer manually from a draft, or let the AI handle the first contact.

The trial is 5 days with no card. We do not promise a number of leads, because it depends on your city, niche and chats, so the honest test is to run it on your own market and count the share of real requests.
