We've just released version 3.4.0 of Fetchify for Shopify, and it's a big one, even though you won't need to lift a finger. Address autocomplete, postcode lookup, and email validation at checkout have all been rebuilt from the ground up. So, the customer data validation tools your store relies on look better, load faster, and stay reliable as Shopify keeps evolving.
Here's what's changed, in plain terms.
A checkout that feels truly native to your store
Postcode Lookup, Address Auto-Complete, and Email Validation now use the same building blocks Shopify itself uses to build checkout. In practice, that means:

If something goes wrong looking up an address, shoppers now see a clear message instead of a confusing dead-end suggestion.
● It matches your store automatically; fields, buttons and messages pick up your store's own fonts, colours and branding, so they look like a natural part of checkout instead of a bolt-on.
● It's quicker; the new components are built to load faster, so shoppers see the address and email fields appear sooner.
● It works consistently everywhere - mobile, desktop, and for shoppers using assistive technology; checkout behaves the same reliable way.
● It keeps getting better, because we're building on the same foundation Shopify actively develops; new checkout improvements reach your store faster.
We've also fixed a small but frustrating detail: if an address lookup fails, shoppers used to see something that looked like a normal, selectable suggestion. Now it's clearly marked as an error, so there's no confusion about what happened.
Built to last, not just to launch
It's not only checkout that's had an upgrade. The Fetchify dashboard you use inside Shopify, where you manage your plan, track usage, and reach support, has also been rebuilt on the latest technology Shopify recommends for its apps.
Your Fetchify dashboard, rebuilt on Shopify's latest recommended app technology.
For you, that means:
● Fewer surprises: security and reliability improvements from Shopify reach the app sooner, so issues get caught and fixed faster.
● New features, sooner: we can adopt Shopify's latest capabilities as soon as they're available, instead of being held back by an outdated setup.
● A more responsive team: our own development process is quicker now too, which means the gap between us building an improvement and you receiving it is shorter.
Clearer, safer, and more transparent
We've also made it much clearer exactly what Fetchify can and can't see in your store. The app now asks for one clearly named, read-only permission covering checkout and account settings, nothing more. It cannot write to, change, or export your store or customer data.
Because that permission is now stated explicitly, you may be asked to review and approve it the next time you open the app in your Shopify dashboard. That's expected, and it's a good thing: it means you can see precisely what you're approving.
Part of a wider toolkit for validating customer data at checkout
This release focuses on address autocomplete and email validation, but it's also part of Fetchify's broader approach to catching bad customer data before it becomes a failed delivery, a bounced confirmation email, or a fraud risk. Alongside Postcode Lookup and Address Auto-Complete, Fetchify also offers real-time phone number validation, so stores can verify that a shopper's phone number is genuine and correctly formatted at the exact moment they enter it, not after the order has already shipped.
What you need to do
Nothing. The update applies automatically, with no setup or reconfiguration on your end. Your existing Postcode Lookup, Address Auto-Complete, and Email Validation settings carry over exactly as they were.
