The article analyzes the impact of generative AI on the concept of authorship, distinguishing utilitarian texts from those of an expressive nature. The author argues that while the automation of instructions or reports is beneficial due to standardization, replacing humans in personal texts destroys their essence. The value of many utterances does not stem from form alone, but from indexicality—the link between the word and a specific person and their agency. Drawing on the speech act theory of Austin and Searle, the text points to the risk of losing illocutionary force in communication mediated by AI. The writing process is presented not only as content production but as a tool for self-discovery and the shaping of attitudes, which cannot be replaced by a ready-made result from a machine.
