Anthropic, the company behind Claude AI, is getting closer to what could be one of the biggest tech IPOs in recent years.
The company has already confidentially submitted its draft IPO registration to the U.S. SEC. Now, investors and bankers are reportedly discussing a possible valuation of around $2 trillion.
That number may sound huge, but Anthropic’s fast-growing revenue is one of the main reasons behind the interest.
Its annualized revenue run rate reportedly crossed $65 billion in July 2026, while the company is reportedly aiming for $190 billion to $200 billion in revenue by 2028.
Still, the $2 trillion figure is not final. Anthropic has not yet announced its IPO price, share count, or final valuation. Much will depend on market conditions and how investors respond when the company moves closer to a public listing.
Anthropic is also reportedly arranging a credit facility worth more than $10 billion as it prepares for its next stage of growth.
At the same time, the company is facing strong competition from OpenAI, Google, Meta, and several open-source AI projects.
The big question is whether Anthropic can keep growing at this pace while handling the huge costs involved in AI computing, model development, and hiring top talent.
If the IPO goes ahead at anything close to the expected valuation, it could become an important moment for the AI industry. It would also give public investors a clearer idea of how much the market is willing to pay for a leading AI company.
For now, the $2 trillion figure is only an expectation. The real story will begin when Anthropic reveals more details about its IPO and investors decide what the company is actually worth.
