Spotify Expands Parent-Managed Accounts to Free Users

Spotify has expanded its Managed Accounts feature to free users, giving more families access to parental controls without needing a Premium subscription.

The feature is currently rolling out in selected countries, with more regions expected to receive it soon.

Parents can create a separate account for their children, keeping the child's listening activity separate from their own.

This means the parent's playlists, music recommendations, and Spotify Wrapped will stay unaffected. At the same time, children can enjoy a personalized experience by creating playlists, saving their favorite songs, and discovering music they like.

Spotify has also included useful safety features. Explicit songs are blocked by default, video playback is turned off, and parents can block specific songs or artists whenever they want.

Setting up a Managed Account is simple and can be done directly from the Spotify app.

This update gives families a safer way to enjoy music without switching to a separate kids-only app.

It offers children a personalized listening experience while giving parents easy-to-use tools to manage what their kids can access.
