Hey DEV, I'm Tobore. Let's actually connect.

Award-winning writer and React Top Author

Hey DEV, I'm Tobore. Let's actually connect.

I've been on here for a while now, mostly writing and lurking, but I realized I don't actually know that many of you. So this is me fixing that.

I'm based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. I build websites, and I also do technical documentation and content writing. Most of what I write comes from projects I've actually built or shipped, not stuff I read about somewhere. I currently hold the DEV React Top Author badge and I recently won the Google I/O 2026 Writing Challenge for Technical Writers.

Right now I'm building my career, taking on freelance dev and writing work, and studying for AWS SAA-C03 on the side. I also run BuildWithTee, which is basically my attempt at building in public: code, write, connect.

What I'm looking for here

  • Other devs and technical writers to swap notes with
  • People building things in public who want an accountability buddy or just someone to bounce ideas off
  • Anyone doing tech documentation or content writing who wants to talk shop
  • People across continents, not just Nigeria or Africa. I want this to be genuinely global

If any of that sounds like you, drop a comment. Tell me what you're working on, what you're learning, or just say hi. I reply to everyone.

Let's connect: LinkedIn
Email's in my bio.

Looking forward to actually knowing some of you instead of just reading your posts silently 😅

Hey Tobore! Nice seeing you here and glad to meet you!

I am a DEV member for half a year now and became one of the most active DEV Community Mod on the platform by far! I like being on dev.to just to see what others have created and ensuring the platform to rise in new heights by enforcing dev.to mission and ensuring everyone here feels welcome regardless of skill and experience level.

I am also the owner of the DEVengers org where my goal is to recruit the best minds on this platform like @hemapriya_kanagala and @nickytonline, who is a former DEV Team member on this platform.

I am pretty much active (day to night) on most days, so I am pretty responsive when it comes to anything dev.to related. I gave you a follow and looking forward to see what you will create!

Also, good luck on the AWS SAA-C03 :D

Hey Francis, thank you for the warm welcome and the follow! That's impressive, half a year in and already one of the most active mods on the platform says a lot about how much you care about this community.
Building DEVengers with people like Hemapriya and Nicky sounds like a great initiative too. Appreciate the AWS good luck wishes, I'll take all the encouragement I can get with SAA-C03 😅

Hi Tobore! Nice to meet you.

I really like that you build from real projects rather than just writing about concepts. I try to do the same—most of my articles come from problems I’ve actually faced while building ERP systems, AI tools, and self-hosted infrastructure.

Looking forward to reading more of your work, and congratulations on the Google I/O writing challenge!

Hi Tobore! I'm xulingfeng. As a fellow writer on DEV, this post hit home. I realized the same thing — publishing isn't enough, you actually have to know people.
I'm currently writing the 36 Stratagems series here on DEV, and the deeper I go, the more I realize there's so much to learn about the craft. If you ever have any writing tips or insights to share, I'd love to hear them. Followed, let's stay connected!

Hi xulingfeng, that really resonates. Publishing into the void versus actually building relationships around your writing are very different, and I'm only now catching up on the second part.
The 36 Stratagems series sounds like a fascinating long-term project, especially translating something that old through a modern writing-craft lens. My biggest writing tip so far: write from what you've actually built or broken, not what you've read. Readers can tell the difference immediately. Followed you back, looking forward to seeing where the series goes!

Hi Tobore! I'm Hema. Thanks for making this post. I sent you a LinkedIn request and also gave you a follow here on DEV. From what I've read so far, I think you're doing some really cool work, and I'm excited to read more of your posts.

A little about me: I enjoy being part of the DEV community, and I write a weekly series called Dev Opportunity Radar, where I share hackathons, grants, scholarships, and other opportunities I come across.

It's great to connect, and I hope we get to follow each other's journey here on DEV. Wishing you all the best with your AWS SAA-C03 preparation 😀
