Headache disorders are classified as primary or secondary; however, among the secondary headaches, those attributed to food ingestion are not well understood. Therefore, we conducted this study to describe and characterize a new headache entity that occurred during the holy month of Ramadan. This headache occurred within 4 h of breaking the fast.

This is a nationwide descriptive community-based cross-sectional study conducted during the last 10 days of Ramadan, based on a random sample of adults living in Saudi Arabia. The demographic data, headache symptomatology, nature and distribution of the pain, possible triggering and relieving factors, and patient management programs were analyzed.

Completed questionnaires were obtained from 16,031 participants. Of those, 3147 (19.6%) reported headaches after breaking the fast in Ramadan. In 84.1% of cases, there was no previous diagnosis of headache or migraine. The characteristics of these postprandial fasting-related headaches mostly was episodic in nature (72%). The nature of the headache was variable, mostly heaviness or tightness (53.9%). Hedgehog antagonist Triggering factors included ingestion of fried food in (45%) and coffee (26.3%). Lying down and sleeping was found to be an important relieving factor (61%).

A new headache entity is being described. Appears to be quite common, occurs less than 2 h following the first meal, and is mostly of the heaviness and tension type.

Four pairs of soft actuators are used to construct the eel robot body. Pulse signals with suitable shifting phases are utilized to control delivery of compressed air to the actuators in sequence to create a sinusoidal wave from head to tail of the robot body. A model of hydrodynamic forces acting on an anguilliform swimmer when moving in fluid was built to estimate the thrust force generated by the robot at different tail beat frequencies. Experimental data revealed that the generated thrust force was positively correlated with the beat frequency. Measured data showed that swimming efficiency depended on both generated thrust force and body posture in situ. At the beat frequency of 1.25 Hz, and air pressure at three segments from head to tail of 65, 50, and 30 kPa, respectively, the eel robot body showed the best cost of transport (COT) of 19.21 with velocity of 10.5 cm/s (or 0.198 body length per second [BL/s]), compared to the other's values of operation frequency and air pressure. We also found that control shifting phase strongly affects the swimming speed and COT. The robot body reached the highest velocity at around 19 cm/s (0.36 BL/s) with the COT of 10.72. Obtained result in this research would contribute to development of soft elongated swimming robot and enhance the knowledge on swimming performance of both robot and natural eels.Previous studies on the impact of COVID-19 indicate that pandemic-related distress increases risks for child maltreatment, although data on the scope of this problem are still scarce. Here, we assessed whether parents with toddlers (n = 206) more often used harsh discipline during the lockdown in the Netherlands compared to a matched parent sample collected prior to the pandemic (n = 1,030). Parents were matched on background characteristics using propensity score matching. We found that harsh parenting levels were significantly elevated compared to pre-pandemic levels. Harsh parenting behaviors with a low prevalence before COVID-19 increased most strongly shaking, calling names, and calling the child stupid. These results suggest that parental tolerance for children's disobedience is lower under the adverse circumstances of COVID-19 and, as a result, abusive parenting responses are more difficult to inhibit. Thus, a lockdown seems to increase risks for child maltreatment, underscoring the need for effective support strategies for at-risk families.Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a benign vascular tumor seen predominantly in adolescent males in the second decade of life. Extranasopharyngeal angiofibroma includes vascular fibrous masses that occur outside the nasopharynx. The diagnosis of an angiofibroma is based on the clinical presentation and imaging, with biopsies being avoided to avoid excessive bleeding. Computed tomography scan is considered sufficient for the diagnosis of extranasopharyngeal angiofibroma as it clearly delineates and identifies the tumor.
To evaluate, using a classification tree methodology, the ability of the Testing Emotionalism After Recent Stroke - Questionnaire (TEARS-Q) to determine the need for further assessment of post-stroke emotionalism and to identify those whose emotionalism is sufficiently clear that they need assessment for potential intervention.

Acute stroke units of nine Scottish hospitals in the context of a longitudinal cohort study of post-stroke emotionalism.

A total of 228 stroke survivors recruited between October 1st 2015 and September 30th 2018, within two weeks of stroke.

The measure was the self-report questionnaire TEARS-Q, constructed based on recognised diagnostic features of post-stroke tearful emotionalism. The reference standard was presence/absence of emotionalism on a diagnostic, semi-structured post-stroke emotionalism interview, administered at the same assessment point.

Nine of 159 subjects scoring 0 or 1 on TEARS-Q were diagnosed with post-stroke emotionalism on the reference standard, compared to 11 of 21 subjects scoring 2 to 5 on TEARS-Q and 42 of 48 participants scoring 6 and above. Adding age, sex, deprivation, stroke type, stroke severity, mood, cognition, daily functioning and education did not improve the prediction accuracy sufficiently to change the classification tree.

TEARS-Q reliably identifies those who need no further post-stroke emotionalism assessment, those who need further assessment to clarify diagnosis, and those who almost certainly have post-stroke emotionalism and may benefit from intervention.
