My broker account password suddenly stopped working after I deposited—did I get hacked?

I’m trying to figure out if this happened to anyone else because the timing is too weird.

About 2 weeks ago I opened an account with a forex broker I found through Instagram ads and some Telegram trading group. Everything looked normal at first. I deposited a little over $4,300 after one of their “account managers” kept calling me saying I should upgrade to unlock faster withdrawals and better trades.

The problem started right after I added more funds.

One morning I tried logging into my broker dashboard and my password suddenly stopped working. I reset it once, got back in for maybe 10 minutes, then got kicked out again. After that, the email attached to the account was apparently changed because password reset links stopped coming to me completely.

What scared me more was the account manager suddenly disappearing. WhatsApp messages only showed one check mark. Their support email replied once saying there was “unusual activity under review” and then nothing after that.

At first I honestly thought my own email got hacked, but my bank, crypto wallet, and everything else were still normal. It only happened with this broker account right after depositing more money.

I started searching things like “broker password changed after deposit”, “forex account hacked after funding”, “unable to login trading account withdrawal pending” and found a lot of people saying some fake brokers lock clients out once bigger deposits come in.

I eventually spoke with Jim Recovery Team after somebody mentioned them in another fraud discussion thread. They helped me trace what happened with the account activity and explained that some offshore broker platforms intentionally restrict access once users start requesting withdrawals or asking questions about balances.

Still dealing with the situation now, but if your broker suddenly changes login access right after you fund the account, don’t ignore it and definitely don’t keep depositing trying to “verify” or “unlock” the account like they told me to do.
