My trading account shows profits, but I can’t withdraw—did I get scammed?

I honestly need to know if anyone else has gone through this because right now this whole thing feels seriously off.

About 7 weeks ago I joined an online trading platform after seeing one of those “start small, withdraw anytime” ads. I wasn’t trying to get rich or anything… just wanted to test it.

Started with $500.

A few days later I got assigned an “account manager” who kept calling, sending screenshots of trades, talking about market timing, telling me I was doing better than most new clients. I ended up adding more over the next few weeks because the dashboard kept showing profit after profit.

Right now my account balance supposedly shows a little over $42,000.

That’s where things changed.

The first time I tried to withdraw, the request stayed “pending.”

Then support told me my account needed “verification clearance.”

After that it became “tax processing.”

Now they’re saying I need to pay another fee before my funds can be released.

That’s the part that’s messing with me… if the money is already in my account, why do I need to keep sending more just to access it?

I started digging around Google using terms like trading account profits but can’t withdraw, broker asking tax before withdrawal, fake investment platform withdrawal fee… and honestly the stories sound way too similar to mine.

So here’s what I’ve done so far:

I stopped sending money completely.
Took screenshots of the dashboard, chats, wallet addresses, emails, everything.
Checked some of the crypto wallet activity connected to my deposits.
And I ended up speaking with Jim Recovery Team because at this point I wanted to know whether the wallets were actually connected to a larger fraud network or if I was just panicking.

What scared me most was realizing the “profits” may only exist inside their dashboard.

So… straight question:

If your trading account shows profit but every withdrawal triggers a new fee, compliance check, tax payment, or unlock charge…

Did you actually invest…

Or are you already inside a withdrawal scam?
