I Was Too Lazy to Search for a USB Cable, So I Built Ocean 🌊

Every time I needed to move a screenshot, binary, or build file between my laptop and Android phone, I faced the same annoying choice: go hunt down a USB Type-C cable, or upload the file to Google Drive just to download it 10 seconds later.

Cloud drives waste bandwidth, messaging apps compress media, and USB cables are never around when you need them.

To fix this mild inconvenience once and for all, I built Ocean — an offline, zero-cloud peer-to-peer file transfer tool.

🚀 What Makes Ocean Different?
Instead of routing traffic through external cloud servers or requiring an active internet connection, Ocean operates entirely on your local network interface (Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot).

Key Features & Specs:
Universal Transport: Seamlessly transfers files across PC ⇄ PC, PC ⇄ Mobile, and Mobile ⇄ Mobile.

Zero Cloud Dependence: Works 100% offline — perfect for remote setups or conserving mobile data.

SHA-256 Data Integrity: Uses chunk hashing so every received piece is verified on arrival to prevent corruption.

Instant Device Pairing: Automatically discovers nearby devices on the network, with token links and QR codes as quick fallbacks.

Speed: Reached sustained speeds of ~17 MB/s on local mobile hotspot transfers during testing.

🎨 Design & User Experience
I wanted Ocean to feel less like a dry system utility and more like a warm, human product. The UI features a soft color palette with sketch-style card borders and clear, friendly status feedback ("Catch a transfer", "No cloud, no fuss").
