As I embark on my journey in learning SoftWare Development, one of the things that keeps me motivated is a daily reminder of the abundance of opportunities I have. These include:
- The opportunity to dedicate myself full-time to learning, having quit my job to pursue software development.
- Access to excellent open-source resources, such as The Odin Project's JavaScript Full Stack Web Development.
- The Privilege to have free access to AI tools that help breakdown and explain complex concepts and code. Also the massive amount to free resources on Youtube, websites and blogs.
- The privilege of creating an optimal learning environment. I moved to a new city, furnished a dedicated study space, and ensured I have all the necessary resources.
- The luxury of using a fast and reliable MacBook.
- The opportunity to be part of this Dev community, where I can access valuable content and share my ideas.
Therefore, I am committed to making the most of these incredible opportunities.
Reflecting on my privileges, I'm grateful to recognize that even the greatest developers began their journeys with limited resources but achieved success through sheer tenacity and dedication.
I'm also aware that many people starting their programming journeys today face significant challenges and lack access to these privileges.
Many are hindered by slow laptops, making learning difficult and time-consuming. Others are forced to study in unproductive environments due to limited resources.
To maintain my motivation, I begin each day by expressing gratitude for the opportunities I have. I then recommit myself to making the most of them.
Now, take a moment to reflect on your privileges and consider how you can use them to make a positive impact on your learning journey.
